Warranty
Each piece of our upholstered furniture is carefully handcrafted with careful attention to detail. We believe the result is exceptional quality and enduring comfort, which means superb value for years to come. To back our belief, Miles Talbott warrants to the original purchaser the following Warranty Coverage:
Frame: Our frames are made of seasoned, kiln-dried hardwood frames, with double-doweled joints reinforced with corner blocks, glued and screwed into position. We use only the best products and construction techniques. We will guarantee the frame to be free from structural defects for the life of the piece under normal residential care and use. This warranty is valid for as long as the furniture is upholstered in its original fabric.
Spring: Our springs are eight-gauge oven tempered quality springs that are fully eight way hand tied and supported by corrugated resin coated steel webbing. We warrant our hand-tied spring system for the life of the piece. We cannot, however, be held liable or responsible for misuse.
Fabric: We do NOT warrant or guarantee against wear, fading or shrinking. All fabrics will fade overtime, and direct sunlight exposure will accelerate this process. Since we do not manufacture the fabric, we can not extend any warranty in this area. We will, however, contact the fabric manufacturer concerning any problems the consumer might encounter and will have the fabric professionally analyzed to determine the cause. Normal wear should be expected.
Fabric Care: Occasional light dusting or vacuuming will help prevent soil accumulation. The following cleaning codes can be found on our fabric swatches as a guide to cleaning techniques. Code S: Clean this fabric with pure solvents (Petroleum Distillate-Based products). Professional dry cleaning is recommended. CAUTION: Use of water-based or detergent-based solvent cleaners may cause excessive shrinking. Water stains may become permanent and unable to be removed with solvent cleaning agents. To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended.
Code W: Clean this fabric with water-based cleaning agents or water-based foam to remove overall soil. Many household cleaning agents are harmful to color and life of a fabric. Water-based foam or solvent-based cleaning agents of any kind may cause excessive shrinking or fading.
Millennium Cushion: Our standard cushion is now a spring-fiber cushion and is found on 95% of our frames. The springs are made of a high quality carbon steel, and each coil is individually pocketed. Cushions suspected to be defective must be returned to the factory for industry testing. If found defective, Miles Talbott will replace at no charge to the customer.
Please be aware that all foams and filling materials will soften and conform to the shape of the users, this is considered normal and is not a defect. The reverse is also true. Due to the .high-loft. feature of this cushion, customers may at first perceive the cushions to be .overstuffed.. This is not a defect, but a feature that will soften with time and use of the product.

Pillowdown Cushion: Our Pillowdown construction is available as a cushion upgrade on all of our frames except the Cottage Collection. This fiber-down is a 50/50 mixture of polyester fiber and 10/90 down mixture (10% waterfowl down and 90% waterfowl feathers). The finished product is then encased in a down-proof ticking. The back cushions are a combination of polyester fiber (75%), down, and feathers (25%). The backs are also encased in a down proof ticking. Finally, the throw pillows are an all.down construction (95% feathers, 5% down).

Cushions suspected to be defective must be returned to the factory for industry testing. If found defective, Miles Talbott will replace at no charge to the customer.
Back Cushion Cores: All of our furniture styles carry the same back core construction of 100% conjugated polyester fiber. These cores will need to be fluffed and turned on a regular basis. Although these cores are not covered under warranty, replacements are available at a minimal charge.
About Tailoring: Most of our styles are tailored in a very traditional style. This means we .theme cut. all of our patterns for these traditional styles. This insures that all stripes, plaids and prints match. All welts are crisp and matched.
In recent years, many consumers have demanded .softer. tailoring to match their more casual lifestyles. Styles such as the 1030 line, the 1470 line and the 1560 line are prime examples of this more casual approach to tailoring. Skirts will be more rumpled and draped, and may even touch the floor. Fabric patterns, depending on the style, can be cut so welts will never be straight. This style features the Cloud cushion which will sit very soft, and will lend itself to comfort wrinkles.
These are all features of .softer. tailoring and are not defects. If the catalog photograph features the .softer. tailored look that is the only way we make that particular item. If this style offends, we suggest you select one of the traditional lines.

Wood & Finish: Due to the natural variances in the graining of wood, you may notice a slight difference in the shading and tone of the color stain. This is not a defect, but a characteristic of natural wood. If this offends, please choose a similar style without exposed wood.
